Ancient capital of the Galilee, according to tradition – home of Joachim and Anne,
Mary's parents.
In their honor the crusaders built a church, which later turned out to resemble
the of St. Anne in Jerusalem. Zippori, blessed with many water sources, was selected to be the central seat of the crusader' armies, wherefrom they set out to their last battle at Karnei Hittim. |
